Sameer Khan (Ajay Devgan) is an arrogant actor with nary a scruple. But seeing a girl being murdered causes him to magically remember the conscience he once had. After an hour, I realized that even the presence of Pankaj Kapur and Vidya Balan couldn't save this cliche filled sorry excuse of a film.

Guru

Having been to the AbhiAsh wedding, a bit of coincidence that I just managed to watch this one. Mani Ratnam's latest production matches his usual levels of picturesque photography, decent songs (a bit too many) and effective performances. However the intensity, that one would normally expect from a good film (like: Iruvar, Nayakan), is missing.

Somehow, all the chopping & changing in the story line, kind of leaves the movie half-baked - which is sad, considering decent performances from Vidya Balan & co; Mithun Chakraborty, surprisingly, delivers a cameo as a media baron attempting to out the Guru; AB appears to be growing as an actor, while Aishwarya Rai practices being a demure bride.

Lage Raho Munnabhai

It is when you see movies like these that you realize that even an actress like Vidya Balan also needs to make some money. I can think of no other explanation for her to act in such a film. But she can soon stop doing this in December when I will propose sweet matrimony to this lovely Mallu goddess. It also has a peculiar side effect of making you hate MK Gandhi.
